Wallowing in self pity

It has been awhile since I have posted. Chalk it up to just being busy attending to four people needs. I have been running around getting Christmas shopping done.

Tonight is Hubby's work holiday party they have invited spouses but I am not going. I don't know anybody so I don't know any babysitters plus going into the city and leaving the baby with a stranger for the first time does not sound to appealing. If my in-laws were here no problem but they live 6 hours away. So Hubby is going and won't be home till late. I am having a really long day with the kids and can not wait until they go to bed. (it is only 1:30pm right now)

I have been feeling sorry for myself lately. I am disgusted by my flabby stomach and spreading arse. I know I should exercise. We have a gym membership but I can't seem to get my arse off the couch. I am tired.

Which leads me to Ladybug decided last week that she was going to get up every hour because she misses me. We are having separation anxiety right now. So we started sleep training so she can soothe herself back to sleep. It worked over the weekend but last night she was up several times. I am tired.

The boys can not be trusted so I really can not nap. So too tired to workout, to tired to concentrate on a book, to tired to function. My life right now.

Little Cubby has no interest in the potty even after we bought him is own.

Big Cubby has some sort of oral fixation where he chews on his sleeves or neck of shirt.

Hubby is doing awesome at his new job which is great.

I really don't know what I am talking about right now. Got to go Ladybug is demanding to be picked up.

4:30am

I got up this morning at 4:30am to head over to Sam's Club to see if I could purchase this.

I was expecting long line and crazy people.

I got there and they just opened and I see a few people walking out of the store with the system. I go in and the employee asks if I was there for the Wii and I say yes and was directed to the customer service desk. There was four people ahead of me and what looked about 50 systems off to the side.

I got my hands on one. This came with all the extra stuff. I got the bundle I linked to.

Now we have to try to wait until Christmas to play it.

5 months old

Ladybug you are 5 months!

You are starting to really use your voice. You like to growl and screech to get our attention.

You love to chew on mommy's fingers. You have gotten a little better using the pacifier. You love to chew.

You have been doing so so when sleeping through the night. Really lately it has been a hit or miss.

You love watching your brothers play.

You love to get your hands on the tv remote. You practically throw yourself to it when sitting on our laps.

You will grab my face really quick and chew on my chin.

You don't like tummy time but you have gotten better at keeping your head up. You almost rolled over the last time you were on your tummy.

You still like to play in the exersaucer.

You like to watch us eat which means you might be ready for rice cereal.

You are such a delight in our family!

Anointing

Over the weekend Hubby and I were discussing that each of our children have deposited some sort of bodily fluid on Hubby. We laughed so hard about it and here is why.

When Big Cubby was a baby, Hubby was changing his diaper and what baby boys do BC shot pee right in Hubby’s face.

When Little Cubby was a baby, Hubby was playing with LC and lifting him over his head so LC was up in the air looking at Hubby when LC spits up right into Hubby’s mouth.

Now Ladybug has up the ante. Hubby was changing her diaper the other day when she had a little gas. Nothing big until she grunts like she is going to pass gas but instead shoots poo right at Hubby. I mean it shot out like a cannon. Luckily it did not hit him in the mouth just his shirt.

Hubby was anointed a father by each of our kids. He took it in stride and he just had to laugh but I laughed harder.

Ladybug 4 months(on Oct 21, 2007)Late

Ladybug you are now 4 months old.

You are growing so much.

We bought you an exersaucer and you find it fascinating. You like to chew on the toys.

You are leaning in and giving kisses. At first I thought you wanted to suck on my face but you did not try to do that and really were giving kisses.

You are so smiley. Your face lights up when I or your daddy come and pick you up from your crib. You smile every time you hear Big Cubby talking. Little Cubby not so much.

You smile when Daddy yells at Little Cubby because he is a pest.

You laugh and giggle when we tickle you. You get ticklish when I change your clothes. You laugh is contagious.

You are in your own room now. You have been a dream when it comes to sleeping at night, sleeping through most of it.

After a trip to see relatives who held you all the time, you’re a little diva whom must be held at all times. You will tolerate the exersaucer for a while but you are the happiest when Mommy is holding you.

You are arching your back and trying to roll over.

You like to watch your noisy brothers as they run back and forth in the living room.

You have been trying to talk. You make all kinds of noises like you are trying to get into the conversation. You must be heard. I don’t blame you with the two loud boys in the house.

You are so precious and sweet and Mommy and Daddy love you very much.

5 minutes of Fame

Hey I was picked for Minute with Manic. You should go over and check it out to read what a dork I am. So go over and say hi! Thanks so much for picking me!
http://www.manicmommy.blogspot.com/

Smart Mouth

Since Big Cubby has started Kindergarten he has gotten a big attitude problem. He talks back when told to pick up his toys. He has been calling his brother names which then Little Cubby repeats. I know he doesn't know what sarcasm is but he says things very sarcastic.

I watched a kid in his class on the playground punch BC in the stomach after BC said hi to him. That day in class, BC punches another boy in his class and gets in trouble and has to lay his head on the table. This boy that punched BC does have issues you can tell.

I know part of growing up is to learn from your mistakes and that going to school I have to give up some control and trust he makes the right choices. It is still frustrating that we have to go through this process.

BC has pushed me over the edge. I am exhausted dealing with him plus a 3 year old who won't listen and a baby who needs me all the time. I am worn down. My house is in chaos. Crap all over the floor. It is enough if I can get the dishes done and the trash out. All the while dealing with a six year old who thinks he is 10.

What would you do in this situation? I feel stressed. Am I being too uptight? How do I handle this.

BC must have inherited being a smartass from his father.

Busy weekend

We had a very busy weekend.

We belong to the YMCA so Friday night we attended their Halloween party. They boys got Halloween temp tatoos and their face painted. We had popcorn and bat brew. It was a fun time. Little Cubby was so excited about his tatoo he kept saying "Look at my tatoon" Yes that is how he said it.

Saturday we went to our local movie theater that had a Halloween contest, popcorn and a free movie. The kids were in the group catergory. They were the VeggieTales. Big Cubby was Larry the Cucumber, Little Cubby was Bob the Tomato and Ladybug was the French Peas. We did not win anything. Basically to win something you have to make your costume from scratch. My husband was disappointed in me for not being creative so he has decided to take over the kids costumes next year. I told him they are all yours.

On Sunday the Lions Club put on a Halloween parade for the kids to march in. So we participated in that. Let tell you it was so lame. The boys really did not care to be in it. It was run so poorly. At the end of the parade route they had goody bags, apple cider and they announced winners to the costume categories. Who they picked to win sucked. In our category was TV/Movie this kid should have won. He was the Alien from the Alien movies. It was homemade and just awesome. The kid who won was dressed in a pinstripe suit and was a gangster. It was so lame.

I am officially over Halloween. Tomorrow is Big Cubby's Halloween party at school. I am not taking the kids trick or treating. They got enough candy this weekend. Besides it is supposed to be chilly and possibly rainy tomorrow night here.

I am so exhausted still I need a vacation.

Good News

After a couple of months and 4 interviews later, my Hubby got the job! Today he is giving notice to his old employers and will end his job there on Nov 7 and start his new job Nov 12.

We are very excited. He will still be working downtown Chicago and we get to stay in the area. So our next goal will be trying to qualify for a loan to buy a house. We are going to try to stay in the town we live in.

I am so happy for my Hubby and I hope now he will be happy. We have had some dark, dark times lately.

One thing off our minds! YAY!

Update from Yesterday

Ladybug went to the eye doc and they said it would be major surgery and they would have to put her out to do the procedure. They said lets wait a year and then see how it goes. Her eyesite is fine and it doesn't bother her. It might separate on it's own.

The other doc appointments went well. Ladybug is 15.9lbs and 26in. She is in the 85% in weight and 95% in height. The doctor said she is growing like a champ. She did pretty well with her shots. Did not get upset until the third one.

Little Cubby lucked out and did not get shots. He is 30lbs and 37in. He is 25% in weight and 25% in height. The doc said he has good body mass. He is doing fine.

They offered the flu shot for LC but we decided against it. Really Big Cubby should be the one to get it but we haven't done anything with that yet. I am not sure about flu shots.

So we are blessed with kids who are healthy and growing.

Busy day

Today is Doctor day for us. Ladybug has an appointment with a specialist to look at her eye. She was born with a extra piece of skin connecting her eyelids. It is not that noticeable because it is in the corner of her eye. My ped doctor would have been able to take care of it but thought it was best that a professional that specialized in this should take care of it.

Later this afternoon Ladybug and Little Cubby have a doctors appointment. Ladybug for her 4 month check up and Little Cubby for his 3 year check up. Ladybug will be getting shots today but not sure about Little Cubby.

This is going to be an exhausting day. I will update this later on today with the adventure of the day.

Later today I hope to post the 4 month post for Ladybug she turned 4 months yesterday. I also hope to have a picture.

It's Like this and like that

Just wanted to give a roundup of what has been going on lately.

Little Cubby is doing so much better. For two days he sounded bad. If you ever heard a child with Croup it is scary thing.

It seems that for now we have gotten rid of the first round of sickness.

We moved Ladybug into her own room and for the past two nights she has slept really well. Last night she slept the whole night. I think it is because she doesn't hear us making noise and we don't hear her every snort and grunt. It is working well so far. Knock on wood.

Big Cubby has been doing so much better at school. He really likes it now. I am so relieved.

Hubby had a fourth interview with this company almost two weeks ago and we still haven't heard anything yet. The company is trying to figure out how he is going to fit. Unfortunately, corporate world takes forever to decide things and Hubby is getting impatient. His current job situation is getting worse and worse. He is being made to give up editorial integrity.

So we are waiting to see about this job because Hubby really wants to work there but if they don't offer soon he is starting an all out job search.

I have been hanging in there. That is it for now.

Croup

Little Cubby has the croup and we have been dealing with this for two days. The croup is not fun. I feel for my poor little guy. He told me "I done" meaning with being sick. I wish I could be sick for him so he doesn't have to go through this.

Found out talking to a mom at Big Cubby's school today that the croup is going around. Last week Big Cubby was sick with a fever and now has a cough.

I am just praying Ladybug doesn't get it. That is scary to me.

We are going on little sleep right now.

Mourning

Just got back from a trip to visit family this weekend so I am trying to catch up.

I am also in mourning because of my Cubbies. There is always next year.

Major Events

We are going to have some major events happening in our lives soon. I have wanted to talk about this but have been hesitant. I am going to go ahead and talk about it.

Hubby has been having a really tough time at work and the direction of the company is taking a different turn that my husband can’t agree with. So he was been looking for a new job.

He applied to a few places near where our family lives which is about 6 hours from us. He got nothing. We have felt pressure to move closer because on my husband’s side we are the only ones with the grandkids. I love Hubby’s family just don’t like the pressure we should move there when I think our kids have a better advantage up here.

There are no jobs where our family lives for my Hubby and we like living here. Chicago has been Hubby’s dream to live back here since he moved from here in 5th grade. So, we made the decision to stay in the area.

Hubby started applying to a couple of places here and he got an interview month ago. He was called back for a second interview and now this week he is going back for a third interview. It is looking very promising and we are hoping he gets it because his current job is a toxic environment.

If he gets this job it is going to start major events in our life. We are going to look into buying a home. Thanks to the National Guard, Hubby can qualify for government loans. We are hoping to get one and settle down in one place. We have always rented since we have been married and never owned. This is a very scary step for us.

I want the kids to have some roots and make friends. I want a sense of community. I want a washer and dryer (yes, I go to the Laundromat for a family of 5).

So we have some major decisions to make in the next few months. It seems like our life is in limbo right now. We are just hoping that Hubby gets this job and we can move on.

This has caused a lot of stress in our home.

sorry

Wow I can not believe it has been a week since I last posted. I have so much to say and not enough time to sit down and type it. This weekend I plan on writing out a few posts I have been wanting to do. Please don't go away I will be back.

The Office last night one word-AWESOME! I love that Pam and Jim are together. Don't know if it will last but it is great right now. The show was so funny last night. It is my favorite show.

When we thought all was well

I got a note from the Big Cubby's teacher today and I was shocked to find out that Big Cubby has not been adjusting to school. Here is what the note said:

BC is having a very difficult time each morning and tends to sit/lay and cry. By 9am he has cooled down and joining the rest of the class in the fun. I just want you to be aware of his actions and talk about it at home. Have a good weekend. Miss Teacher.

WHAT?!

Here I have watched him go into class and then they have this big window so I see him walk into the room to sit at his desk. He wasn't crying then. OK, today he was a little upset when he went in but he wasn't crying.

Now I find out each morning there has been an issue this week. When I pick him up he is happy and said he had fun.

WTF!

I am at a lose here. How do I get him to stop acting like this? We talk positivily about school. We discuss the day. We get him prepped in the morning.

No other kids in his class act like this. Here we are two weeks into school and I have had to talk to the principle and now a note from the teacher.

Last night I went to his school for Curriculum night and got the info on what they are going to do throughout the year. I am excited for him and I have been trying to show him that.

When I asked him why he is doing this he says it is because he misses me. He went to preschool and it was the same amount of time as Kindergarten. He even went longer on Fridays and had a lunch at preschool. So I don't understand this. I never failed to pick him up at preschool. Was always early. I am doing the same with Kindergarten. We have never snuck out on the kids when we have gone somewhere without them. We have always been up front and always came back. Just like how you are suppose to. I have never abandoned him and I don't know why he feels this way.

I just don't get it. I know this is wrong to say but is my kid the freak in class? I love him dearly and I feel like this is my fault some how.

new week

Big Cubby did well on Thursday and Friday. We did not have any incidents. This morning we almost had a breakdown but he went into class ok. I chalk this morning up to he was sick yesterday with a slight fever and running nose. Today he is fine just sleepy. We will see how it goes. Yesterday's day off threw him off I think.

I am sick of mosquitosss and these itchy mites. I have some many bites it is crazy. The bugs are out all day long. I know I should use Off or something. Just haven't bought any. I am in itchy hell.

Birthday/day 3 kindergarten **UPDATE**

I was going to post something about Big Cubby's birthday yesterday he turned 6 but it got late and I did not have time. Well today I have a problem I need to blog about.

I took Big Cubby to school this morning everything was fine. We had two great days going to school. They celebrated his birthday at school and it was fun. So we walk up to the school and BC wants to go and play at the playground I tell him ok but you have to come back when the bell rings.

The bell rings I look for him and he is not coming. He is still playing. I have to go get him which means I am holding Little Cubby and pushing Ladybug in the stroller over to play area and tell him he has to go to class. We go get his backpack and I kiss him tell him have a good day and he starts crying. He won't let go of me. The teacher tries to help me get him off me and he starts having a screaming fit. Throws himself on the floor kicking and screaming. Crying I don't want to go to school. The teacher shuts the door and I leave.

Now Little Cubby is crying because seeing is big brother cry he thinks BC is hurt. Meanwhile, I am sweating profusely because I am embarrassed my child has acted this way in front of everyone. I wanted to cry.

So now I am at home hoping the school doesn't call me because he is not behaving. Now I wait until I go and pick him up.

Oh by the way, I started my period today. So things are really peachy right now.

**UPDATE**

So I went to pick up BC from school and when the kids were let out a woman comes over and introduces herself to me. She is the school principle. That's right not even a complete week of school and I have the principle talking to me about my kid. She was very nice and explained that BC had a meltdown and he was told to sit at the table with his head down and when he was ready to participate in the class he could. She said that this was a good thing that he did decide to participate in class today. She said she knew it was a hard transition for kids.

I called Hubby and started crying about it. What am I going to do? I felt like the principle was nice but that I was getting into trouble.

I want to thank everybody for the supportive comments. It really means a lot to mean to have you guys here.

Kindergarten update

When we went to pick up Big Cubby he came running up to me with a huge smile on his face and said he had fun. He said he really liked school. I was so relieved to hear that. I feel so much better.

Now my biggest challenge is to make sure he gets to school ontime with two littles in tow. It was so easy with Hubby there this morning.

Oh, I guess my other challenge is to start potty training Little Cubby. I am kind of hoping he will pick it up from his brother. I am so lazy.

My baby now a big boy

Well, I just dropped off my baby for his first day at Kindergarten. Good sign was we went in the school with the other kids and the teacher by himself. He did not cry. We looked into the window and he seemed to be ok.

I, on the other hand, almost starting crying.

He did so good going into the school. I told him where we would be to pick him up and he seemed a little nervous but otherwise ok.

I will update later after we pick him up from school at 11.

Stomach Flu

Well, there is a stomach flu going around our house. It started last Tuesday when Big Cubby got sick right before bed. We thought it was a nervous stomach. But the next day he laid in bed dry heaving. By the end of Wednesday he was fine.

Today Little Cubby started throwing up. All he had was a little orange juice this morning and has thrown up to the point of dry heaving. Poor little guy has slept most of the day.

I am praying that Ladybug and I don't get it.

Tomorrow Big Cubby starts school. I want this stomach flu gone!

Kindergarten Orientation

Today was Big Cubby's Kindergarten orientation at his new school. It was from 8:30am to 9:15am. Let me tell you it went bad for us.

We get there and everyone had brought their school supplies. I did not know we were suppose to bring them. It did not say on the paper they sent to bring them. So right off the bat I feel like an idiot. So I ask about it and the teacher says no problem just bring it on the first day of class.

I take Big Cubby around the room and show him all the different stations and where the restroom is. The teacher then announces that the parent please go to the music room for a PTA introduction and the the kids were to sit on the rug for a story.

I tell BC sit here on the rug and mommy will be back after your story. He freaks out. I starts crying and hugging my waste. He doesn't want me to leave. I almost start crying but keep it in check while trying to tell BC everything was ok that I was going to be in the other room and be right back. Finally a teacher came up and helped me get out of BC grip so I could leave.

I had never expected that reaction from him. He has gone to preschool and he was fine there. Not once did he get upset about going there.

After story time the teacher brought the kids to the room where we were at and BC was so upset at me for quote "leaving me alone". He told me he doesn't want to go to school. He doesn't like it.

They received a paper that said the class listen to this story and on it was two heart stickers. The note said on the first day of school I should put one sticker on my hand and the other on his hand. Well, we get to the van and BC starts crying because he all ready lost his stickers. So we go back to the classroom and ask the teacher for another one.

The teacher tells me that BC did not want to participate during story time and he sat at a table by himself instead with the other kids on the rug. My heart dropped.

As a parent I feel this reflects on me and how I am raising him. I know I am making a bigger deal then it should be and he will probably be ok at school after the first week but still part of me is horrified.

The teacher is young and bubbly and super nice. So today and will continue this weekend talking up school and the teacher. Telling him how fun it is going to be.

School starts Monday and I am really nervous about it. Hubby is taking the morning off and I think all of us will take BC to school. I am going to need Hubby's support that day for BC and myself.

So now you will have to excuse me while I go have a nice beer(just one I am nursing) and go cry in the corner(just joking).

Ladybug 2 months old

Ladybug, you are 2 months old today. Daddy started calling you this nickname and I love it. You are getting so big. You went to the doctor today and you weigh 13lbs and 4oz, 23inches long. You are great at nursing. Mommy’s milk is doing wonders for you. Too much so, maybe.

You are starting to coo and smile. You even giggle. You are such a girlie girl.

You are a great sleeper. You have been sleeping through the night from 9pm to 6am. Mommy and Daddy are very, VERY happy about this.

You are not distracted with all the noise around you. You seem to prefer having your loud brothers around you.

You like to be held and walked through out the whole house. You like you rocking seat and your swing.

You do a lot of spitting up all over Mommy and Daddy. Still, your Daddy is going to spoil you for sure. He’s also shopping for a shotgun that he can clean in front of your dates for when you start dating.

You have such delicate features and yet you have a lot of strength in you legs. You want to stand up.

You like to try to sit up. You are very impatient little girl. You are ready to see the world around you.

You are such a good surprise in Mommy and Daddy’s life. Even though you are only 2 months old you seem like you have always been here.

You make our family complete.

Day Date

This past weekend my in-laws came up to visit. This was really great because Hubby and I got to go on a date.

They came over Saturday morning and told us to leave. Hubby and I walked down to the local bookstore and looked around then we headed over to this Irish restaurant and pub for lunch. It was great. Hubby and I got to talk without being interrupted.

I even got to have a beer, a grown up drink. We stuffed ourselves and then we walked over to the art store and bought a portfolio case for Hubby. We then headed to Starbucks and sat outside with our drinks.

We walked home to see how everybody was doing. They were great so we decided to jump in the van and head to Barnes and Noble. It was great. Hubby and I could concentrate on looking at books without kids throwing a fit every two seconds. After browsing, we headed home to relieve the grandparents.

It was an awesome date. We had four hours together without kids. We got to talk about our future which is a huge deal right now. I will save that for another post.

I love when we get to see my in-laws because they love watching the kids and don’t get to do that very often because we live so far away. It was a very busy but good weekend.

35

Yes that is right, today is my birthday and I turn 35.

Nothing like starting out the morning with a phone call from your mother to tell you happy birthday and ask how it feels. When I say old, she starts in on how she feels old for having a 35 year old. This is from a woman who is an eternal 21 year old and not in a good way. Everything is always about her.

So my day will consist of what I do every day. Chase kids around.

Let's see how the day progresses. It should be interesting.

six week appointment

Had my six week doctor appointment and everything is great. I have lost half the weight I gained during pregnancy. I would love to lose 5 to 10 more pounds but that requires exercise which requires energy and I don't have much energy right now.

Hubby is happy the six weeks are over because he thinks he is getting lucky. I have news for him that what he wants requires energy and I don't have any.

Baby C sleeps from 9pm to about 3am and then gets up again by 5 or 6 am. Not too bad but when you include Little Cubby getting up every other night there is no sleep in this house.

Last night was one of those nights. Little Cubby woke up around 11pm crying. He was up until after 12am then Hubby got up with him at 2am and then found him playing in the playroom at 3am. Little C is in a great mood today, not.

Things are getting a little better. I am starting to figure out a routine. I have taken the kids to the park a couple of times this week which is a huge deal for me. It has worked out fine. I put baby in the stroller and Little C in the wagon. I have Big C pull the wagon.

I still won't take them to the store with me.

I have been getting out in the evenings after Hubby comes home and going for a walk. This is just to clear my mind.

There is some major stuff going on right now in our lives and I can't quite talk about it yet. Maybe in my next post.

Cheap Entertainment

The photos below were taken from my bathroom window. They are tearing down the building behind us. In the first picture you see how the wall looks like panels, well that is how they are taken it down. One at a time they are pulling it down with a loud boom and the whole house shakes. Fun times.

The boys love to watch them do it.

Townhouses will be built there when they are done clearing all this out.

Credit Fraud

We have become a victim of credit fraud. Someone in used my Hubby's credit to purchase two things totaling $1000. It was done this week. Hubby has the card in his possession so someone must have written down the number while he was traveling. It is Hubby's account so I don't have a card.

It has all been taken care of and he will be issued a new card.

This is very scary thing. I shred all our bills and credit card applications. I always make sure that I put dirty diapers or coffee grounds to wet the shreded papers.

You just never know.

week in review

I have no concept of time since having a baby. I can not believe it has been a week since I last posted. Here are some highlights of my week.

Hubby went on a business trip to Cleveland on Tuesday and came back Thursday. That is right two nights alone with the baby and the boys. I could not remember my own name by the time he got home I was so exhausted.

I went on a trial run with all the kids by myself. I took them to Target to buy diapers and it was a disaster. Cub Baby was spitting up all over the place. Little Cubby was trying to climb out of the cart. Big Cubby was in the cart also and when I was in line the boys were hitting each other. I was trying to pay and the cashier tells the boys to stop hitting each other. At first I was pissed because they are my kids and then I was like I am too tired for this, get me out of this store. The boys really weren’t hitting each hard they were playing.

Cub Baby is up three to four times a night until last night when she slept from 10:30pm to 5:00am. It was lovely.

In between all of this I bought and am reading the last Harry Potter book.

I was going to wait until paperback because we have all of them in that. I just could not wait. Hubby and I are reading at the same time.

Cub Baby turned one month old this weekend. She is still trying to figure out

what she was born into.

I have to say there is never a dull moment here at the circus.
Got to go I hear the baby crying and she is pissed off at Hubby.

Murphy's Law

I could stare at the wall and the boys, baby and Hubby won't need me or bother me but as soon as I want to do something like pick up a magazine or try to blog they all need me.

Sorry for not posting more. Oops, got to go Hubby is calling me.

Birth Story/Two weeks old

Today Baby Cub is two weeks old. It seems like she has been here forever. The stump on her belly button came off yesterday, Yay! That think smelled really bad. She is doing well. Monday night she slept in 4 hour increments and Tuesday she slept in 3 hour increments and last night she woke up twice.

We have been adjusting ok. It has been a big help Hubby is home this week. We will see how I do when he goes back to work next week. He also has a trip coming up where he will be gone for 2 nights. Let’s hope I survive that.

Now here is my birth story.

Thursday morning on June 21st, I woke up around 4am feeling really crampy and uncomfortable. I woke up Hubby and told him “I don’t think you should go to work today.” I just had a feeling. I get up and go down to lay on the couch. I flip around the TV and nothing is on. I try to go back to sleep but can’t seem to get my mind off thinking is this it.

At 7am I go for a walk to return some books at the library hoping to jump start labor. I stop by Starbucks to get Hubby a coffee and head back. The library is under a mile from my house. I get back and the boys awake for the day. I get them breakfast and after we all go for a little walk. Contractions start but are weak and inconsistent. We decide to run some errands so we go to Wal-Mart for a few things. My contractions get a little stronger but I can still talk through them so we don’t call the doctor yet.

Now it is 12pm and we get lunch at Jimmy John’s and after we go to Old Navy to look for Big Cubby some sandels.

My contractions are now getting a lot stronger and are 7 minutes apart. We go home and I lay down in bed for awhile. Starting at 2pm, for the next hour my contractions become 5 minutes apart and so strong I want to cry.

3pm I call the doctor’s office and tell them I think I am in labor. They tell me come into the doctor’s office and the doctor will check me. I get there the doctor comes in and exams me. He tells me I am 3 to 4 centimeters and he sends me over to the hospital. The hospital is in the same building.

Now the time is 4pm. I get situated in my room and they hook me up to all the moniters and ivs. Then I get the epideral. I LOVE the epideral. I feel sooo much better.

Hubby and the boys head out to get dinner and I try to rest. Right who can rest in a hospital. Now we wait and wait.

The nurse keeps asking me if I can feel any pressure and I tell her no. I cannot feel my legs at all. I got too much medicine and can’t feel a thing. At about 7pm the nurse checks me and I am at 7cm.

The nurse comes in after 8pm and asks me if I feel any pressure I tell her I don’t. She checks me and the baby’s head is right there. They hurry and get everything ready and call the doctor.

A nurse was kind a enough to watch the boys in the next room so Hubby could be there with me. They got to watch tv. Hubby grabs one leg and the nurse grabs another. With 6 pushes or 15mins my baby girl was born.

The doctor was like you make that look easy. I could not believe she was a girl. Hubby and I kept looking just to make sure she was a girl. I had just a small tear and that was it.

They got her and I all cleaned up and Hubby brought the boys in. They were really sweet with her. Hubby took the boys home and around midnight they moved me to another room. I had them take her in the nursery for the night and give her formula so I could get some sleep. I had been up since 4am.

The next day I recovered more and that night I had them keep her in the nursery but bring her in when she needed to nurse. That worked out really well. I got some rest and was ready to go home on Saturday.

It was a really easy delivery just like Little Cubby. I am glad it is over and I have my complete family.

Checking in

Hey everybody, just checking in real quick. Baby C turned a week old yesterday. She had a doctor's appointment and now weighs 8lbs 14 oz. I guess my milk is really working.

Things have been really hectic this week. We had Hubby's parents visit and my sister and mom visit. I have stories about my sister and mom I will tell later.

Hubby had to work all week up until yesterday. Now he starts vacation and this will be a huge help.

I have been trying to take care of all three kids this week by myself and let me tell you it has been challenging. Yes, it has made me cry because it is so overwhelming. I am hoping with Hubby home we can get into some kind of routine.

That is it for now. Hubby home means I will be able to post more pictures in the week to come. Stay tuned!

Oh and thank you everybody for all the congrats. It really means a lot to me you guys are out there. I may need you in the future just to keep my sanity.

Due Date

Well, today is my due date and as you can tell I am posting so that means nothing is happening. I had my doctor's appointment yesterday afternoon and there is still no change. I am still 1 to 2cm dilated, cervix soft, and -2 station.

I was very disappointed. I asked the doctor what I could do and he told me to wait. Their policy is to go a week past due date then talk about induction. He said statistically I should deliver this week. Well, no sh** the odds are on that. So I had to make another doctor's appointment for next week. I hope to not have to go to it.

Starting tomorrow right next to us is the town festival they have every year with booths, carnie rides and games. Fireworks every night starting Friday-Sunday at 10pm. They are very loud. So we will be battling the sounds of kids screaming as they ride the rides and bands playing.

Meanwhile, we are still waiting on this baby to stop being comfortable in my womb and get out here. Foghat is playing at this festival and I really wanted to see them but it looks. Come on people Foghat!

Well, that is the update for now. Sorry there isn't more to report.

3 days to go/Father's Day

I have three days(not counting today) to go until my due date. I was really hoping to go early but it looks like that will not be the case. I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday so we will see what is up.

In honor of Father's Day I wanted to share a moment that happened yesterday. I dropped off Hubby and the boys at a park while I went to get my haircut. They got out of the van and walked in front over to the sidewalk. Hubby was holding Big Cubby's hand and Big Cubby was holding Little Cubby's hand. It was one of those precious moments that are so fleeting. I took it in and made a memory snapshot knowing that the boys are growing so fast. I love when they hold hands and are loving with each other. I really wished I had the camera to take a picture of it but Hubby had it with him.

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there.

just want to cry

I had my doctor's appointment yesterday and still no good news. The doctor said that I was about 2cm dilated but baby is still high. She said it won't be any day now more likely next week. At least the baby's head is still down and in the pelvis.

She says all this after I had to wait for 45 minutes on a hard table, half naked. Right now any type of position hurts so a sitting on this table was not fun.

I left the office got in the van and cried. Right now I feel like a prisoner. I can barely walk so I don't go outside very much which means the boys get cooped up and they start getting unruly which leads to yelling. I would try to take them to the park but the cicades are so bad that both boys practically climb me to get away from them.

We have killed at least 30 cicada that has come down our chimney. Our flue is broken and so we tried to block it with wood but they still get in.

So I am stuck in the house going crazy.

Has anyone tried inducing their labor at home? Are any of the old wives tales true? Please let me know!

still counting down

Well, no baby yet. Yesterday I walked up to the library to help things along. We went for a walk in a forest perserve in the afternoon to help things along and still nothing.

So not much to tell. Let's hope something happens today. Hubby goes back to work tomorrow and if something happens while he is there it will take awhile for him to get back home. I really don't want to drive myself to the hospital with the boys.

So, today I will be out for a walk again. I know I have a week and a half to go until my due date I just was hoping to be early this time.

update

Not much to tell. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and my weight is steady, blood pressure good and the baby is head down. Dilation hasn't changed but the baby has moved down to -2 station and my cervic is softening.

I feel like the baby is right between my legs. It is getting harder to walk. My hips have also started to loosen up so my body is getting ready for the big event. I still have two weeks until my due date but the doctor said I could have this baby any time now.

***on a different note. The family and I went to Target and we ran into Manic Mom and her beautiful children. Good news is that she looked like she was feeling better. She got to see how big I am getting and will be waiting news of the new member of our family. ***

I would be great if everybody would send good thoughts my way and wish for me to have this baby this weekend!

Thanks.

Knocked Up

On Saturday, I went to the movies by myself to see Knocked Up. Let me tell you it was great movie. It was funny, smart, relatable, raunchy, sweet and satisfying. I am a big fan of the 40 year-old Virgin and this one tops it. I laughed so hard I thought I might go into labor. I can't wait for it to go to DVD so I can see it again.

Don't cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me

First this is the third post this week are you impressed? I got tired of posting every day but I try to post once a week. I hope to post more.

Here are a couple of pictures taken last night of the belly. I am 37 weeks.

I had my doctor's appointment yesterday and got some interesting but boring news. Appartently, at my last visit the doctor did not tell me that I was 1cm dilated, 50% efface and -3 station. As you can see really means nothing but I thought it was a start. This week I saw a different doctor(there are three in the practice) and he said nothing had changed since last week. He also said that people tend to set their own timetables and since Big Cubby was only 2 days late and Little Cubby was on his due date that I will probably be giving birth closer to my due date.

No ultrasound just yet. Bummer. I was hoping for another look. I am dying to know for sure if this is a boy or a girl.

Everything still looks good and healthy. I go back again next week.

Side note: I have been becoming more easily irritated and yesterday was no exception. Let's just say sitting on an exam table with no back support half naked for 35 minutes waiting for the doctor to come in for a few minutes just to probe me is not fun. Especially when you have to go to the restroom again. Good Times!

We are getting closer and I can not wait.

3 and a half weeks to go

Well, no baby yet. I have 3 and half weeks to go. I am down to going to the doctor every week. Late this afternoon I have an appointment. We will see if there is any progress. I am guessing no.

The baby has been moving a lot and does seem lower. The doctor mention last week about a possible ultrasound to see if the baby is still breech. I hope they do one today. I want another chance to see if we are having a girl or a boy. Internal exams suck though. I hate them they are the worse.

I hope to have a picture taken tonight by Hubby of my belly for you. I have been walking each night trying to get things started.

I am so ready to have this baby. I have been having weird dreams and waking up a lot with hip pain. I can not believe time is getting near. I just hope for a quick delivery.

Question: Any of you out there with three kids have a quick labor with the third? I am just trying to get an idea on how things might go. The doctor said because this is my third that my body has been stretch giving baby more room to move around so that is why the baby is in the breech position. I don't want a c-section. I didn't with the first two why start now.

Please give me your stories.

Cicada invasion

Hubby took this photo
On Sunday morning we went for a walk with the boys to get outside for awhile when we came across in our neighborhood the cicada invasion.

Apparently they decided to emerge that morning. I am talking hundreds if not thousand of these things.

At first, they were pretty cool to watch. They were shedding their exoskeletons. When you looked up in the trees they were hanging their and then dropping to the ground. It was straight out of a Sci Fi movie. I have watched too many of those Sci Fi movies and Hubby and I talked about how it starts off innocent then ends with people running and screaming.

Big Cubby was ok at first. Seeing one or two was cool. He did not mind holding the exoskeletons. Then when we kept seeing more and more on the trees and then smashed all over the sidewalk, he started to freak out. He did not want to walk on them and when they would fly around he would scream.

Little Cubby doesn’t mind them in fact he likes stepping on them.

Let me tell you they are not the best flyers and Hubby and I were hit by them a couple of times.

As we were walking one of the cicadas falls down Hubby’s shirt. He gets it out and I ask him well are their any on me. I turn around and he says uh yeah actually there is one in your hair. So I am trying not to freak out and scream down the street smacking my hair because I am trying to comfort Big Cubby that they are harmless and there was nothing to be scared of. I remained calm as Hubby got it out of my hair but on the inside I was screaming. Let’s just say when I got home I took a shower and still felt them crawling on me through out the day.

Let me tell you if one had gotten down my shirt people would have seen a half naked pregnant woman running down the street. That shirt would have been off.

They are everywhere right now and are very loud. It is like a bad Sci Fi movie.

I do have to say that I am glad the boys have got to experience this phenomenon because it is not going to happen again until 2024.

Here are some links to other photos that Hubby took on our walk of the cicadas.

He took a lot more but hasn't posted them yet.

Prom Season

Here are the Prom photos I promised. The first one is in 1987. I was a freshman and my boyfriend was a senior. Don't you love the wedding candle opera behind us. I could not find the info on what the theme was that year. I broke up with this guy after he graduated. He was too serious for me and I still had three years of high school left.

1987
The second picture is my Junior Prom. I went with a friend and neighbor who was also a junior. Our prom was held at SIU the same night there was a Bon Jovi concert going on. My date had borrowed his dad's nice sports car which was broken into and all of our after prom clothes were stolen. We had to race home to change clothes and get back before the doors closed at the After Prom activities. We got pulled over the next morning heading to eat breakfast before we went home. No ticket thank goodness. We both said this was something we would never forget. The theme for our Prom was Hold onto the Night by Richard Marx. Cheese.
I could not find a Prom picture from my senior year. The theme was I Remember You by Skid Row. My husband was my boyfriend around that time and he decided to break up with me at the last minute so I went with this guy from work. It was horrible. He invited me to his Prom and I felt bad so I said yes. That is far as it went. Hubby decided he made a big mistake and came back to me. Hubby and I have known each other since the summer of 1989. Been married for 14 years.
So there are my prom pics. I challenge everybody to post theirs and let me know. I really got a kick at looking at mine. I would love to see yours.

good intentions

I really meant to post a belly picture this week and pull out the old prom photos but it seems something came up every day.

On Monday, Little Cubby tripped and hit is head on the corner of our fireplace and has a little gash in his forehead that bled a lot. No stitches thank goodness. Last night he had a fever and threw up in his bed.

Big Cubby had Mom's night on Wednesday at his preschool. Thursday he had a thing called ABC Roundup at his new school where he will be starting Kindergarten in the fall.

Hubby had a speech to give at small town a couple of hours away on Wed.

We have been trying to get outside to enjoy the warm weather whenever we can.

I am still exhausted and want to sleep all day.

Boy, each night I have wanted to get a few things done but I just didn't have the energy.

I promise this weekend a belly shot will be taken. I will pull out and scan my prom photos also.

This month is just crazy with Hubby travel, BC preschool grad, and my doctor's appointments.

In few short weeks a new little being will invade our house. I can not believe the time is near.

been awhile

So it has been awhile since I posted. Sorry, I have been just trying to keep my head above water.

I had my doctor's appointment last week and everything is looking good. I have gained 19lbs so far. My blood pressure is low at 102 over 60. All my tests have come back great. By the doctor's standards I am having an uneventful pregnancy which they like.

I on the other hand physically feel like crap. Still really tired. Baby moves a lot. Had another episode last week where my belly gets really sore to the point I can't walk. My belly button bruises easily. I am so ready for this baby to be born.

Some of you have asked about names for the baby. We have a few picked out but I am not sure I want to mention it here. I haven't given out my boys names on this blog but I know if you really looked hard you would be able to find them. I do have a story about girls names. We came up with a name and thought it was perfect. Then one night I woke up around 2am and it dawned on me that the monogram would spell A.S.S. I could not believe we did not see it before. I started laughing and told Hubby about it. He couldn't believe he missed it also. So we have gone with a different name. I have a boy's name just in case. I am still thinking about whether to post the name or not when I announce on the blog the birth. We will see.

Two things to look forward to is one I will have Hubby take a picture of my belly and I will post it with a story about my encounter with the laundermat lady. And two in honor of Prom season I am going to pull out a couple of prom photos and post them.

I hope to do this in the next few days.

I am a winner

I check out a site called Celebrity Baby Scoop and they had a contest to win a shirt from promom couture. All you had to do was enter in your email and name. I WON the shirt! I got an email about it from the women who run the Celebrity Baby Scoop site and from the woman who own promom couture. Below is a picture of the shirt I won. I got it in a medium because my goal is to fit into after having the baby.

The shirt is so cute. It says Peace and Love Forever Mom. It is fun to win.

Read at your own risk

Back from a break of blogging. I just needed some time. I was getting burned out on it. I started this blog as a journal and in hopes of meeting people who had been through what I had or at least understood. Then I got sucked up into worrying about what people would think of me if I posted certain things or feelings. I became disenchanted with the whole blog thing. People can turn on you so quick.

I have been having a hard time lately. I didn’t want to post about how crappy this pregnancy is going. Don’t get me wrong, everything is fine. Just went to the doctor on Tuesday and my blood pressure is good, my weight gain is good, I am not anemic and they were supposed to call me if I failed my glucose test and they did not call so I passed that. The doctor said like three times I looked really good for being pregnant. She was impressed. What is going on are crappy little things that are annoying like total exhaustion, being nauseous all the time, having no appetite and forcing myself to eat, being repulsed by any meat product, aches and pains from my hips and low back you know normal stuff I guess but this time it seems worse then the other two. The doctor thinks the baby won’t be that big. Good news since BC was 8lbs, 11oz and LC was 9lbs, 4oz. I thought for sure this one would go up in weight. It would be nice to have a baby under 8lbs.

I have been become easily annoyed and downright bitchy lately. I feel bad for everybody in the house.

On top of all this, my grandfather is not doing well. He fell a couple of weeks ago and broke his hip. The hospital kicked him out because they had done all they could do so this week he was put into part of a nursing home for rehabilitation which he can stay for 20 days then a decision has to be made. If he doesn’t get any better then he will have to be put in a nursing home because my grandmother can’t take care of him by herself and they can’t afford 24 hour care. My grandpa cried when they took him on Tuesday saying why does God hate me. My sister says he is not looking good even though my Mom says otherwise. It is her Dad and I think she is in denial. I have been preparing myself for his death. I just have a feeling it will be soon. What sucks is I am getting late into my pregnancy and might not be able to get home in case something happens. The drive is 6 hours or so away.

So that is not all that is going on but it is enough to talk about right now. I promise I will have Hubby take a belly pic of me this weekend and I will post it.

Quick

Just a quick post to let everyone know that everything is ok. Will try to post more later. Also will try to post a new belly picture. Been tired and the boys won't let me have a minute to myself. Still here don't forget about me.

Moans and groans

Sorry about not updating the blog more often. This pregnancy has been really rough for me. Last week I had severe pain from my belly button to the right side of my stomach. It was so bad I could not sleep and was up all night one night. It was so bad that I could barely walk. The next day Hubby could not stay home he had to be at work so I had to muster all my strength and take and pick up Big Cubby from school that day. I tried to rest most of the day but it is hard when you have to feed and take care of two kids.

The following day Hubby went out of town for business. I thankfully was feeling a little bit better. Luckily it was just an overnighter.

I have had more aches and pains this time around then with any of my pregnancies. I am miserable. The baby is kicking and moving all the time. I mean all the time.

The boys have stepped up their misbehaving and I just don’t have the energy to deal with it. I have tried everything and nothing works. I have to say I am looking forward to September when school starts for Big Cubby he will go everyday and it will be a blessing for both of us.

I am not sleeping very well. My hips hurt all the time even the body pillow is not helping. I guess I am getting prepared to be up most the night with the baby.

I have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow so I will be asking a few questions.

Life around here has pretty much sucked lately. There has been a lot of stress because of Hubby’s workplace, the boys fighting nonstop, and my pregnancy woes.

I can not wait until the weather warms up so these boys can get outside.

On a positive note, a couple of weekends ago I went to the movies by myself and saw Reno 911. I giggled the whole movie. It was really funny. Just what I needed.

I am trying to take one day at a time and trying to have faith. It is hard when our lease is up when the baby is due, we want to move back home to where our family is but there are no jobs for Hubby right now, but he is looking, Big Cubby starts kindergarten in Sept. and I don’t know if I should enroll him in a school here and there is a third child on the way and I feel I can’t control the two I have how in the world am I going to manage three.

OK, enough moaning and groining. Just needed to get that out.

New Bed

For the past two weeks, Little Cubby has been sleeping in his new bed. We finally decided it was time for him to start getting used not sleeping in the crib so when the baby came he would not have any problems.
He had only climbed out a couple of times but for the most part he stayed in it. Now that there is freedom he won't take a nap. This has been very rough for me. I would use that time to snooze a little and get some energy.
The witching hour around here is unbearable. Both boys cranky is not fun.

Little Cubby seems to like his new bed. I have put a safety gate at his door which helps at night. It usually depends on the night how long it takes for him to go to sleep. Some nights it is only 15 minutes and others over an hour. Good news is by the time the baby is here we shouldn't have a problem with him going to sleep quicker in his bed.
Now if I can get him out of diapers we will be good to go. I don't see that happening anytime soon. He shows no interest in it and I am not pushing him.

Happy Anniversary

Today is my 14 anniversary being married to the most wonderful man! We have had our share of ups and downs, trying to survive two children plus one on the way and being one paycheck away from the poor house. There is no one else I would go through this life with. He is my soulmate and I love him very much.

Happy Anniversary Babe!

22 weeks

I went to the mall yesterday and this hippie type store was going out of business and was having a huge sale. I found this gem and could not pass it up. It totally reminds me of high school and my love for Jon Bon Jovi. Don't you think this shirt rocks! I also think my pregnant belly in it gives it the something extra special. A lot of girls looked like this in my home town when I was in high school.

Here is my belly at 22 weeks. It really hurts. Notice the nice flap of back fat I am developing. I need to lay off the cinnamon rolls. If my belly button spreads out in farther I won' t have one anymore. Gross I know.

90 percent sure it's a

GIRL

The ultrasound picture is of the baby facing down. If you look closely you can see the side of the face, spine and head. The doctor tried really hard to see the sex and it wasn't obvious that it was a boy. The umbilical cord was in the way a lot but the doctor did notice a white line in the girl parts area that is typical of a girl. The baby would not show us her face.

So we are 90 percent sure it is a girl. Big Cubby is very excited about this. He wants a sister. A girl will make the family complete.

I will post a belly shot later this weekend.

Fun house or Mad house

I don’t even know where to begin about my week. It has been a mad house.

Let me start with last Friday when they pulled the raccoon out of our chimney. That’s right a raccoon. Not just any raccoon but a huge pregnant raccoon.

For the past few months we have heard a sound that was scratching and moving in our chimney. I suspected a raccoon but wasn’t sure. Then the noise started sounded aggressive and we called the landlord again about it. I was afraid the thing would get in our house. One night I hear the thing getting aggressive and I take a flashlight and look up. There was a little crack in the flue and there was an eyeball looking at me through it. I recognized right away it was a raccoon. We called the landlord and said we need to get this thing out now we have small children here.

Friday the animal control guys showed up to try to get the raccoon out of the chimney. It took the animal control guys two hours to get the thing out. They kept throwing down a log on a rope to push the raccoon up but the thing kept falling back down. I had to go pick up my son and right when I was about to leave the guy on the roof says do I want to watch and sure enough he pulled the raccoon out and put it in a cage. It was huge. In the process of removing the raccoon they broke our flue and now we have no protection there. I have a sheet blocking the fireplace. This is only the beginning.

Sunday, my Hubby left for San Diego on a business trip for three nights and four days. We have always watched the Super Bowl together and it was really a bummer to watch it by myself. Poor Hubby by the time he got settled in San Diego he only got to watch the 4th quarter and he had been looking forward to the Bears going to the Super Bowl since 1986. He is a big Bears fan.

Monday while Hubby was away our heat downstairs went out about 11:00am. We have two furnaces one for upstairs and one for downstairs. I text Hubby and asked him what I should do and so I called the landlord. We had to be on the guy all day about it. The temp dropped to 54 degrees downstairs and it was the coldest day for us with negative temps and negative wind chills. The boys and I sat on the couch with blankets and watched TV. The guy did not come to our house until 9:30pm to fix it and it turned out to be the thermostat. When the guy told the landlord what it was they were in the basement and I was at the top of the stairs out of view, the guy tells him how much it would be to replace it with installation fee and my landlord hesitated way to long. I knew the guy was cheap but didn’t know he was that cheap. I was getting ready to say something when he tells the guy to go ahead and replace it.

Meanwhile our smoke detector goes off through out the day for no reason and come to find out it is an old one that uses 120v electricity not batteries. The landlord somehow gets it to stop for awhile but it did go off once today.

I was a crying emotional wreck on Monday.

Tuesday we slide by without any trouble.
Wednesday Hubby’s 6:30am flight was cancelled and ended up having to fly to a San Jose then to Chicago. We drove and picked him up and did not get back until 5:30pm when we stopped for dinner and then Little Cubby and I were dropped off at home so Hubby and Big Cubby could go to Daddy night at Big Cubby’s preschool.

It seems to never fail when Hubby goes on a long trip something happens. With my emotional state right now I don’t know how much more I can take.

This afternoon is my doctor’s appointment and I am hoping the baby will cooperate and we will be able to find out if we are having a boy or a girl. Don’t know what this means but I finally had a dream about the baby and it was a girl. I don’t know if I should take much stock in that but we will see. At this point, I don’t care what it is just as long as we have a healthy baby.

More later!

Still here

Hey everybody I am still here. Last week was crazy. Hubby was gone for three days on a business trip and I had to take care of the boys all by myself. Everytime I tried to get on the computer there would be crying or screaming in the next room so I did not get a chance to do a whole lot.

Hubby is going on a four day business trip soon and I am not looking forward to it.

Everything seems to be going ok with the pregnancy so far. I am just a hormonal and emotional wreck right now. I am very moody.

Last week we went as a family twice to the YMCA and the boys played in the kid area and Hubby and I walked the track talking. It was nice.

Next Thursday, Feb 8th at 4pm is my doctor's appointment. Hopefully the baby will cooperate and we will be able to tell if it is a boy or a girl. We have been looking up names but nothing is really standing out right now. Maybe once we know what we are having it will be easier to come up with a name.

I will post a belly pic after the doctor's visit next week.

That is about it just trying to stay warm in this crappy cold we are having.

I will try to post when I can.

Preschool Drama

Remember I posted awhile back about Big Cubby’s favorite teacher was leaving at winter break? Well there is more drama then that now. Unrelated to the teacher leaving there is more.

On the last day of school before winter break I was waiting in the pick up line when one of the mothers asks me if Big Cubby was coming back to the school after winter break. I said yes, why and she tells me some of the moms were pulling their kids from the school. Before I could ask anymore questions the kids were let out and I had to go because I was in front of the line. All winter break we were wondering what was going on.

On Monday, the first day back when I took BC to school I noticed on the board that there were only 11 names on it. There were only 3 boys in the class including BC. The class started out with 19 kids 8 of those were boys.

I talked with one of the moms and asked what was going on. Turns out that some of the moms were concerned that the school was not teaching what they wanted the kids to learn. The teacher is behind because earlier in the school year she was dealing with fertility problems and final got pregnant. So they are behind. Still I think BC is still learning and we are working with him at home.

Oh did I mention the moms that pulled the kids were the Mommy Clique? Also one the kids pulled out was the bully? I did not realize that competition for public school kindergarten was so fierce.

Hubby and I are comfortable with our decision to keep him in the school. BC loves going and seems to like his new teacher. With a smaller class, he should learn more with more attention for him.

On the teacher that left, she liked having the kids work with worksheets and the other teacher likes hands on learning. I have to agree with the old teacher that I like worksheets better. That is why we are working on this at home.

Why does there have to be so much drama for preschool? What is this world coming to?

17 weeks

Well, it is my belly. I guess it is bigger. Here is the link to the first shot. Everything is going great and normal with the pregnancy. My blood pressure and and weight gain are on schedule. I gained 4 pounds since the last doctor's visit. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat as soon as the doctor put the dopplar on my belly. That was a huge relief because last visit it took awhile.

My next appointment is February 8 in the afternoon. I will be getting the ultrasound and we will hopefully know for sure whether it is a girl or boy.

So, everybody start making your guesses on what you think I am having. To start off, Big Cubby thinks it is a girl. It will be interesting to see what you all think.

Happy 2007

I am still here just been busy trying to get organized for 2007. Hubby has been off a few days and of course Big Cubby has been home and doesn't go back to school until Jan 8. I haven't had much time to post anything so far.

I promise after this week I will be posting more. My next doctor's appointment is Jan 8th and I will be posting an update on it and a new picture of the belly.

I hope everyone is having a good new year so far.
