going crazy

I just need to get out these feelings. For the last two weeks my husband has left for work at 4am and doesn't get home until after 8pm. I am with the kids all day with no break. This past weekend he had to work from home so I had to deal with the kids. I am so sick of dealing with kids I could scream. They don't listen to me, get attitudes and are disrespectful. I have hit my limit I want to scream I don't care if so and so hit you or I don't care if you don't want to eat this for dinner. I DON'T CARE!

I don't know if my husband's work schedule is going to keep up like this so for his safety I mean my sanity, I hope it doesn't.

starting new

well it has been a long time since I have been on here and thought I might dust if off and use it to get out some feelings away from Facebook and Twitter.

First I decided not to go to my 20th high school reunion in Sept. I don't feel like spending all that money to go see people who really could have cared less about me in high school. I have connected to these people through Facebook and have seen what I wanted to see. I feel like I have grown up and moved on. I don't feel sad about it. It is a good thing. Besides there is Facebook drama going on between a few people and I just don't want to be a part of it. Grow up.

Second I need to vent and not have to be judged about how I feel. I have been struggling with who I am lately. It will be almost 10 years since I held a paying job. I have been home all this time and it is becoming stifling. I have a few more years until all the kids are in school all day.

I just don't know who I am anymore. Well got to go. I have to take the kids to one of their classes.

First 5K

I ran my first 5K race today. I ran it in 28min 14sec. I was 2nd in my age group out of 12 and 31 overall. Not sure how many were in the race it was kind of small. All I know is that I beat a really tall basketball player and two other guys that were younger than me.

It was actually fun. I really liked the competition. I kept a consistent pace and I would pick people in front of me as I went and say ok I am going to beat that person and so on.

My boys kept asking me if I won the race and did I get a medal. They were a little disappointed I did not "win". I told them that it wasn't mommy's goal to win but to complete the race and that I had a certain time I wanted to finish. I beat my goal.

The boys got to run the 50 yard dash and they got a little medal for it. It was cute.

It was really fun and I am all ready signing up for another one in October.

5 years

Just realized my blog is 5 years old. I am so grateful for this blog. It really helped my when I felt isolated and alone with small children. I did not have a friend network where I lived and this community really welcomed me. I know that I haven't posted much this year because with the introduction of Facebook in my life I did not feel like writing a lot on the blog. Still this blog is my baby and maybe I will try to write more on here because there are some things I just can't share on Facebook and a lot of people on FB don't know about this blog.

So thank you to all who have read me for the last 5 years. Your friendship and support really mean a lot to me. I consider you all my friends.

New house

We are officially grown-ups. It took almost 37 years to do it. We bought a house. Yes now we have a mortgage. Been in for a week and almost finished getting things organized. It is a small house and it is not too bad. Nice yard.

Here are a few pictures we took when we were looking at it to buy.

Heartbroken

My grandfather or what we like to call him Papa passed away yesterday evening. He was a great man. He loved all of us grandkids. I was fortunate enough to spend a lot of time with my grandparents growing up and they are very close to my heart. He would do anything to help us out and he did on several occasions.

I love him and am glad to know he is in no more pain.

Oh where oh where has this little blog gone?

Oh where oh where can it be?

Sorry for anyone still out there that is checking in. I don't know why I haven't been blogging. Part is I feel my life is mundane. Part is I have been having the winter blues. Tired of being cooped up in the house.

I don't feel creative and I don't feel like I have much to contribute. I have been more involved in Facebook that is for sure. I feel like I don't get a chance to sit down and have time to myself. I am always up doing something.

I don't know if I will continue I just might pop in once in awhile if I have anything interesting to tell.

Facebook is evil

I have totally neglected my blog. With Christmas rapidly approaching and totally becoming addicted Facebook. Cubmommy has collected dust.

So to update.

I started exercising in September using Jillian Michael's 30 day Shred and Core Rhythms and at the end of November I had lost 14 pounds and a pant size. I can tell you I am close to what I weighed in high school. I am very excited. Not to brag but I am in size 4 jeans. I have worked every hard for this and I have hated every minute of it. I started this to be healthy and have some energy to be able to keep up with the kids. Hard work has paid off. I am stronger and healthier.

It looks like Big Cubby has pink eye again. As you remember last Christmas we had to cancel our trip to visit family because he got pink eye and gave it to all of us. So YAY! It doesn't seem bad this time so I am not sure if it really is pink eye. I had all ready had an appointment for Ladybug's check up today so I called in BC and took him. The doctor really didn't look at his eyes just gave me a free sample of eye drops and prescription if the rest of us get it. BC has his class party tomorrow I hoping he will be able to go. That is if we don't get the predicted snowfall this evening. Talking about a foot of snow.

So I am not done with Christmas shopping, haven't sent out Christmas cards, no cookies made, no presents wrapped. I am doing awesome people.

When I feel like I am getting stressed out about the holidays I read this quote from Bill McKibben "There is no idea Christmas; only the one Christmas you decide to make as a reflection of your values, desires, affections, traditions."

On that note I think I will have a beer and start addressing cards. No worries.

Happy Thanksgiving and my new laptop

Just wanted to wish everybody a Happy Thanksgiving and to tell you I am thankful for all of you who have stayed with me and keep reading. You are great blog friends.

I will be checking in less this week due to travel and the holiday.

Good news is that I should be able to blog more now that I have a new laptop computer.

Take care and be safe!

It has been too long

You can blame Facebook for my absence here. I have been kind of obsessed.

I do have a question for anybody still reading this blog.

If you have a little girl, what age was her first haircut?

You see Ladybug's hair is very thin and not has long as I like but her hair is kind of all over the place. Should she just have her bangs cut? I want her to have long hair so I am afraid to cut it but I have heard cutting the hair helps it grow faster. True?

Something needs to be done. I don't think I can do it myself. Chalk it up to haircut trauma when my mother and grandmother cut my hair. Not pretty.

Any advice?

Facebook

All right I did it, I signed up on Facebook. In doing so, I have reconnected with some people I went to high school with. At first I was hesitant because I hated high school and did not care to see anybody again. Now that I am an old woman I am softening a little.

Actually it was really interesting that the people I connected with. We will see where it goes. The good thing is that I have reconnected with my best friend through junior high and high school and that was really great catching up with her.

My 20th renuion is in 2010 so maybe it is a good thing to see what these people are doing. Only time will tell.

Hmmm

What to say, what to say. Well not much to say.

It has been pretty boring with just doing routine things each week. We did go out and take some photos of the kids for our annual pictures. The individual ones turned out pretty good but the group shots did not. So we will be out again trying for the group pic of the kids.

After a bad experience at Sears with photos we decided to take our own and for the last 3 years we have and I think they are better then the studio.

Here are a few from this weekend.

been in mourning

Sorry I have been in mourning over the Cubs. Slowly getting over it.

In good news Big Cubby has had no problems going into school for two weeks!!! That is right no crying, getting out of line, getting angry or having the teacher nudge him into the building. It started when Hubby took him to school one day and he did fine so he told BC he had to act this way with me and he did.

We are very proud of him.

Now if I can get my 4 year old to use the potty things would be awesome!!
